Video Poker

 Video poker

Video poker, a form of poker that is based on five card draw poker, can be played in a casino. It is played on an identical-sized computer console to a slots machineHistory

Video poker became economically viable after it was possible to combine a television-like screen with a solid-state central processing unit. Even though they were primitive today, the early models were created at the same time that the first personal computers were manufactured.

SIRCOMA, which was Si Redd's Coin Machines and which eventually evolved to become International Game Technology, introduced Draw Poker in 1978. Video poker was more well-established. As people found video poker less intimidating than playing table game, video poker gained popularity in casinos throughout the 1980s. Today, video poker occupies a prominent position on many casinos' gaming floors. Las Vegas locals are especially fond of the game, as they prefer to play at local casinos close to their home. These local casinos may offer lower denomination machines and better odds.

Some people are very skilled at calculating the odds and have made a lot of money playing video poker.

The game

After inserting money (or an bar-coded, paper ticket with credit), play begins. The player places a bet and presses the "deal” button. The player then gets five cards (or a five-card drawing) and can choose to discard any or all of them. In exchange, new cards are drawn from the virtual deck. If the winning combinations are met, the machine will pay the player. The payouts for hands are not determined by how common they are, what game variations they are and the decision of the operator. Pay table games usually start with a minimum hand consisting of a pair or more of jacks. These hands pay even money. The other hand combinations available in video poker are identical to those in table poker. These include: straight, two pair, three or more of a sort, straight (a sequence with five cards of consecutive value), flush(any 5 cards in the same suit), full-house (a pair and three of them), four of three (four cards each), straight flush (5 consecutive suits), straight flush (five cards of similar value), royal flush (a Ten and a Jack, Queen, King, and Ace of the the same suit), and straight flush (aque, jack, aque, aking and aque, aking and aque, and aque, and aces of the exact). [3]

Certain machines may offer progressive jackpots, or other bonuses that will encourage you to play more often. [4]

Regulation

In the United States, video poker machines are regulated by Indian and state gaming authorities. These agencies often require that machines be able to play random sequences with a virtual deck. This regulation is based upon a Nevada Gaming Commission regulation that was later adopted by other states having a gaming authority. Before video poker machines can be offered to the general public, they are subject to testing to verify compliance with this requirement.

Deuces Wild uses a two to serve as a Wild Card; Joker's Wild uses a joker as a Wild Card; Anything's Wild lets the player choose any card (by rank), to act as the Wild Card before the hand is dealt. Pay schedule modification allows for four aces and a smaller kicker to pay an increased amount. Multiplay poker has a base hand that the player draws from and each played hand draws from a different hand. Multi-play versions of multi-play are available in "Triple Play", 'Five Play", 'Ten Play", 'Fifty Play", & One Hundred Play".

If a game is played without a wildcard, a player will average receive four-of–a-kind hands approximately once every 500 hands. A player could play thousands of hands prior to a royal flush which typically has the highest payout.

Online video poker games are now available in 3 states: New Jersey (Delaware) and Nevada (Nevada). All three states allow players to play fully-regulated online video poker provided they are present physically in the state and are of legal age to gamble. How to Play Video Poker
